I agree, however the video card manufacturers have been promising these multimedia features for years and NEVER delivered. I remember more than 10 years ago, ATI promised accelerated video playback on their Mach64-based products. Same old story for Linux users... ATI can't release their proprietary driver specs. Heard that before. I'm still waiting for support for the tuner in my AIW 7500 (yeah, I've heard of GATOS and it ain't quite there). I'm personally getting really tired of this. It is the reason why I no longer support ATI after having been an ATI user for so many years.
