It will likely play DVD's, but there is not CPU, it's a barebones system. But, I assume you'll get something more than a 500mhz Celeron in that (actually, you probably can't fit a 500 in the socket...). As for much else I wouldn't hold my breath. The graphics are probably going to be "ok" at best. But if you get a powerful enough CPU, you may be able to do HD playback through software (no xvmc necessary).
