i also have the similar problem :-( hitting "r" makes nothing... and i
checked "watch recordings" - there are only scheduled recordings there

Have you tried running mythbackend from the terminal and see what it
says, or checked the logs, /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log for FC based
systems. Post them here as well if you cant see anything going on.
