OK, I've spent the night trying to get FC4 running on my would-be MythTV box, but there's some problem with the ethernet card (Via Rhine II, on the motherboard). If anyone has encountered this problem and can steer me right on how to fix it, I'll stick with FC4, but otherwise, I don't want to chase down this bug for weeks before I can even GET to my myth installation.

So, KnoppMyth: No. FC4: No. What's next? Gentoo?
Why don't you just go buy a $10 ethernet card that's supported, and be done with it?

Just wanted to mention that I have installed FC3 and FC4 (also FC2 if memory
serves me) *many* times on PCs equipped with Rhine-II. IIRC, these were all
different flavours of mini-ITX boards. Works just fine out of the box, every
time. Is it possible that your NIC is defective?

Or, could it be something other than Rhine II? If it's Gigabit, it might use the VIA Velocity module.

(I run Gentoo on several boxes. Some with Rhine II cards and some with Velocity cards... all work fine w/ Gentoo. I haven't tried FC4.)
