That did the trick. I'm able to confirm:

PC HD3000, in Toronto (downtown) on Rogers using the cxx88-dvb driver I'm
receiving about 40 QAM_256 channels that are unencrypted (mostly the
timeshift channels) inside MythTV.

It does work (despite numerous posts otherwise).
