So if you can get mode2 to spit garbage... then you can check by pushing
known keys, whether the output matches the keys listed in the lircd.conf
file you have picked up. IF not, it will never work with lircd!
Then either look for another lircd.conf file, or make your own with
irrecord.
(Next gotcha is that the *names* of the keys used in lircd.conf and in
lircrc must match exactly, in order for a key presss to be passed along to
the program (mythtv for example)... the names must be exact in case etc.
Vol+ is not volume-up etc...
