He didn't want to kill/start frontend (or at least that's not what he asked for). He just wanted certain keys deactivated when the frontend was running. The easiest way to do that would be to use a wrapper script that swaps the lircd config files when the frontend is started/stopped so that lirc would ignore the unwanted keys when myth is active. That assumes you can find a way to make sure myth is not started directly, bypassing the script. -- Joke template: Three guys walk into a bar.
