regular deinterlacing is pretty simple, mplayers' pp=lb or pp=fd are both fine 
options for playback. There are some more advanced deinterlace filters for 
use with mencoder. don't know about any of the transcode stuff Myth uses as I 
don't use Myth for transcoding.
