Agreed, if your wired network card works and you don't want to touch anything just use a bridge. Installing a wireless card isn't tough. There are plenty of wireless network cards that will work. Wireless is probably not enabled in the kernel so, depending on what is already compiled in, you probably will need to recompile your kernel. You'll need to edit the file /etc/conf.d/net . The next step depends on what card you decide to use. I'm using a Gentoo box with a Netgear WG311T 802.11g card, madwifi-driver will need to be installed with "emerge madwifi-driver" Some 802.11b card drivers are already included in the kernel. Depending on your network and type of security used some other tools may need to be installed. I really don't want to scare you way from wireless cards. The thing I cannot stress enough is to make sure you buy a card that is supported. _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
