8174 works great for me too... (vga out to monitor). I had originally tried
to use the onboard (Biostar) 6200 video, and 8174 'fixed' that problem, and
the on-board video now works fine. I have a 6200 PCIExpress card with
component out and another 6800XT card with component out that I'll be trying
in the next few days.....
Regarding the problem the 'Xv/interlace bug'... exactly what is it? If I
can reproduce it I can open a 'bug' and provide data... maybe they're just
lacking debug information?
Using Xv, interlaced output only outputs a single field. I'm
pretty sure that even on my SDTV setup (480i directly out VGA port) that's
what it's doing. If I play with -vo x11, it's much crisper.
It *outputs* interlaced... just that the data it puts out is crap.
