s-video just splits the video data into 3 seperate channels(rbg) instead of a single channel on the yellow RCA connecter. That said, its best to use with a red/white RCA wires to send the audio. Look in the original packaging for the DishTV PVR, there should be at least 2 cables with a Yellow,Red, and white RCA connecter.
