Brandon, I do follow avsforum where they also discuss HDTV card lot more compared to myth-users list. Only recently I've seen any activity related to the HDTV tuners on myth-users.
I did got some help in pchdtv forums when I posted some questions there and on this list last May. I did compare pros and cons of various tuners when I was shopping for second tuner for my box. I'm in San Jose, about 40 miles from Mt Sutro tower. After several users on avsforum successfully reported Fusion Lite and Fusion Gold (both have SAME LG HDTV tuner for digital broadcast, only the analog portion is different), and the linux dvb drivers were ready, I ordered my card from copperbox for $99 delivered. I also have LG LST 4200A, a HDTV set-top box which I got in 2004. The Fusion cards are based on same chipset. The LG set top box has excellent reception compared to Samsung and other set-top boxes. So, the LG chipset is quite good for digital reception. My friend across the street has ATI HDTV card using Windows driver. I can tell you that its a hit-or-miss for him getting any channel. In my setup, I've an old antenna, about 20 ft high on single story roof top. The wire is all chipped and chaffed and I cant replace as I dont have any means to climb up and replace the wire. I've a 1-4 splitter connected to the old chipped wire. Then I attached a new RG6 100 ft cable to one end and a 1-2 splitter at the other end. The 2nd splitter is feeding signal to the HD3000 and Fusion Lite 5 card. In effect, I've only 1/8th of the signal being feed to both the cards. Now, if you say the Fusion Lite card has issues, then I should not be getting anything after so much signal degradation (40 miles away, chaffed cable and 1/8th signal). So, once again, it mostly depends on your line of site and setup. FWIW, Fusion 5 Lite is quite acceptable for OTA usage, assuming you dont have other major issues in your setup.
