I have a Plextor, too. I'm using KnoppMyth 0.18.2. I initially had problems selecting /dev/dsp2, too. All I did was delete and retype "/dev/dsp2" and then alt-F to exit the screen. I had to go back to check it, but it eventually stuck after several tries.
