This is one of my pet MythTV annoyances. I don't think shows should be marked as recorded until the recording is complete. Sometimes I kill a recording like the previous poster, but also I had problems for a while with the back end crashing due to a kernel panic and lost all of those shows as well. If you shedule a show and the only one on the schedule has already started then Myth will grab what it can and consider the job complete. Likewise, after a reboot it will start recording again (sometimes).
