I have a PVR-350 in my system which worked fine with the PVR-350's hardware decoder. The only "problem" was that MythTV is so slick TV watching has increased and 1 tuner was not enough. :-)
So I added a PVR-500 to the box. The system is a combo frontend/backend which outputs to the TV using the PVR-350's TV out, and it also serves as a backend to a couple of computers in the house. Adding the PVR-500 was no problem -- drop it in, IVTV found it automagically, and I added the 2 tuners (etc.) to mythtv-setup and all works well. Well, all except the local TV sound (remote frontends work just fine). If I turn off the "Use the PVR-350's TV out / MPEG decoder" setting in the frontend, both video and sound work fine. Sound comes out of the TV like it should. If I turn on the "Use the PVR-350's TV out / MPEG decoder", I get video but no sound. Can anyone whack me with a clue-bat? On a semi-related note, MythTV seems to grab whichever one of the 3 tuners it wants to record things. What I'd like to do is to "reserve" the PVR-350 for live TV, and to have Myth do recordings only off from the 2 PVR-500's tuners. Is this possible? Thanks in advance. -- Why do geeks get Halloween and Christmas confused?
