Dear MzMine developers, My name is Tobias from Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig, Germany. We are hosting the NORMAN MassBank server (http://massbank.normandata.eu/MassBank). This service was started in 2011 to facilitate the environmental chemists community to share their mass spectra of environmentally relevant compounds. In future, we will part of the MassBank consortium.
I would like to ask to change MzMine regarding the connection to MassBank. In our opinion a customizable connection to the MassBank server of own choice would be a great feature. So far I got it from the source code, massbank.jp is hardly linked. The reasons for this request are: 1. Some people running their own private MassBank servers (for example people from Eawag, Switzerland, and our Department) 2. More people from NORMAN MassBank consortium will do in future. 3. Some people may like to connect to another special MassBank server. I suggest to define the server URLs in the configuration file. This list could be provided as a drop down list in MzMine for selection of the MassBank server of choice.
