Actually better, the Z8530 is speed rated to 4MHz, the Z8530A 6MHz, there is a
Z8530A-8 rated to 8MHz. So far I have found these chips seem to all work in
8-10MHz Z80 clock range of our CPU boards, but definitely A’s would be better.

Subject: [N8VEM-S100:3030] Zilog Z8530A vs Zilog Z8530

Hi,

I am currently putting together my S-100 serial board (V3), and am in the
process of sourcing the ICs. I cannot seem to be able to find a Z8530 but have
seen many Z8530As out there. Would it be acceptable to use the Z8530A for this
board?

Thank you much!

Best,

Joe Herdler
