Hi Andrew!!!

It is still Java but with the JIT compilers available in Java these days it 
is almost native.  The big gain would be to make it multi-threaded.  From 
my looking at it so far it appears to be single threaded.  I would think 
that it would be natural for something like this to be multi-threaded.
