Probably because the code was not yet written Frank.  If you are able to read 
both sides with the 0E & 0F commands then your hardware is probably OK.

Take a look at the source to check however

Hello John,
i notice while testing, that the ZFDCDIAG program subroutines 11 & 12 (R/W 
tests) only uses one side of the disk.
On the screen the side changed between A & B, but not on the hardware.
The read tests 0E & 0F are working with two sides.
Is there a reason for?
