Hi Don,

Well, the LED's on top should help. Upon Reset, the BOOT ROM led should be on.
When you click run, that LED will turn off and the SD Card LED should flash
like it's being accessed.

I drew up a diagram for serial cable connection... I'll check if it's on the
wiki, but for now, please find attached.

Regards,
Josh

    Thanks Josh,

    That could be useful.

My board is not working. Thinking it might be a simple serial cable

    problem.

      Hi Don,

No, it needs the front panel for:

          -MWrite generation

          -Reset

          -Run

I am thinking of adding those functions on a jumper selection
for version 2, thus making a self contained CP/M board.

        Cheers,

        Josh

          Josh,

Will you 8080 board work without a front panel installed?

            Hi Group,

Well, I put up one of these boards fully built and tested
on ebay. I hope to reach some ALTAIR / IMSAI owners that
may want to bring their system out of the closet. If
anyone is interested in following the auction, it's ebay
              item # 251712707885

I hope it will come up on searches... I couldn't figure
out how to make it "International shipping".

Hopefully, it will drum up some interest in N8VEM too.

              Cheers,

              Josh

              PS. Tom,

I do not have John's Propeller Board. Perhaps John has a
blank sitting on the shelf with my name on it?

I could probably write support for the board, but, it
would be difficult for me to debug without a board to test
              with.

              Cheers,

              Josh

                Josh...

Do you supports John's Propeller Driven Console-IO
                   Board

on the 8080 board CP/M image?? if no, is this
                  something your planing on adding??

ADDING THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT TWO BOARD SYSTEM...

I don't have a lot of cards, but
                          I'm primarily using a DANE-ELEC 1GB card,
                          works fine.

I also tried a Kingston 4GB Micro SD (with the
SD adapter) - does not work.

Another one that simply says "MICRO SD" on it,
which is a 2GB Micro SD with an adapter, does
                          not work.

Another that only has "MINI SD" written on it,
which is a 2GB Mini SD with Adapter does work.

I recently bought some cheap cards from China,
the ELITE PRO 1GB Memory Card, they work.

They all work ok on my PC, I'm guessing
there's some init process that I'm not doing
correctly for these larger cards. It's not
worth my time to solve the mystery, I just
recommend people use 1GB or smaller.

                          Cheers,

                                        Hi Group,

Well, the moment has come for
me to stand up and admit I'm
                                          an idiot!

This has come after a long
                                          search and struggle to find
out why CP/M 2.2 would not
                                          save files correctly.

                                          Apparently in CP/M 2.2, they
                                          number the sectors from 0.
While, iirc, in CP/M 1.4 it
                                          started at 1.

I spent hours testing my disk
                                          read/write routines and could
                                          not find faults.

I even thought my CP/M image
got corrupt, and Rich Cini was
very kind to send me another
image. I was hoping the files
                                          where different, but that
                                          wasn't the problem either.

                                          The whole fix, just really
required me to remove a simple
                                          "Decrement Sector" instruction
                                          because I thought CP/M used 1
                                          as it's starting sector, where
                                          I needed 0.

                                          Sigh... ok, problem
                                          solved....
