I think the days of the Tantalum might be coming to an end.  I read this post 
from Lee Hart on the SEBHC group....
"Today, we can get ceramic capacitors that are just as small as tantalums,
and even better with regard to leakage, high frequency performance, and life.
The ceramics are also non-polarized -- it doesn't matter which way they go in! 
:-)
I bought a bag of 4.7uF 25v ceramics and have been using them to replace small
tantalums and electrolytics (Mouser 810-FK14X7R1E475K, $0.153 each for 100)."



I am certain these ceramic capacitors will out perform the Tantalums for a 
fraction of the price.
