I have reached the stage where I get an email notification when the host in question fails. But my observation is that when the host comes back up no email notification is sent by nagios. My basic setup  of nagios consists of one monitored host with monitored service (http service) on it. I neither get any service notification when the host goes down, nor do I get any host/service notification when the host comes back up.
