Hi, I'm using Nagios 2.0b4 on Suse 9.2 I have some plugins which do various database checks such as disk usage. In the plugin, I want to define the exit codes depending on the status of the check. I noticed that there is an exit status of STATE_DEPENDENT (defined in utils.sh which comes with the nagios plugins package)
When should this exit status be used. I'm guessing it should be when a service check is a dependency and its master service has failed and therefore the dependency should exit with this status. Am I correct ? The documentation lists the other exit state codes (0,1,2,3) but doesn't mention 4. I've checked 2.0b6 docs as well. BTW - When i use the STATE_DEPENDENT exit code for a dependency service check I get the error 'Return code of 4 is out of bounds' I have the dependency service check defined in dependencies.cfg Any pointers / help would be very appreciated. thanks, deborah ************************************************************************ This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
