Hi Xavier, If you are using windows-clients, the ntray is a fine solution. It sets itself into the windumb taskbar, and alerts with sounds and popup-windows if an error occurs. As far as i know, you can retrieve it from nagios-exchange, and ther should be other quick-overviews and clients in the category "AddOns->Frontends"
