If I recall correctly from reading the Nagios documentation regarding dependencies there -is- a way of inheriting the parent's dependency in such a way that the dependency also gets triggered if the parent's parent goes down. I don't know this stuff by heart though, so please re-read the appropriate part of the manual. This would save you a lot of typing :p Cheers!
