I have about 140 hosts. In Status Map, I choose "Circular" and the map looks ok. The map is made from "parents" option in hosts.cfg. I also use 3-D Status Map, but you must have a plugin installed on for your browser. This 3-D Map also uses the parents defined in hosts.cfg.
