Further to what Jeff said, we also monitor NTP sync status and telnet. We tend to run things at varying intervals though... ifstatus is checked every time we get an SNMP iface down trap and otherwise once every 5 mins, NTP is checked once a day, etc, etc. Ras Using Tomcat but need to do more?
