just run this command you can find the error in file on exact line.
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
have to read setup manual 1st!

Hi All
I have installed the nagios application and facing some problems while
starting
nagios
[EMAIL PROTECTED] conf.d]# rpm -qa | grep nagios
nagios-2.4-1.el4.rf
[EMAIL PROTECTED] conf.d]# service nagios start
Starting network monitor: nagios
CONFIG ERROR! Start aborted. Check your Nagios configuration.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] conf.d]#
