I have seen this issue as well. The first time I recall seeing it was with 2.4. I believe I've seen it with 2.5, but I can't remember for sure. I can't really reproduce it. Back to Nagios:
Yes I removed the check, reloaded and then added it back and it seemed to clear up, but this probably needs a bit of investigation to see what hangs, what is getting stuck since everything else seem to still work.
