Marc,

Yes, downtime.dat is created/written to by the nagios process.  I think
I was possibly misstating the problem.  It seems that the downtimes that
have not triggered yet are kept, however ones that have already
triggered and are in process while nagios is restarted don't re-enter
the downtime period after the restart.  I'm assuming this happens for
everyone, does it not?
