That's done by another part of the OS, for example udev. Basically you configure how device links are created for hot-plugged devices. You'll have to tell us the OS and its version at least... or look up the documentation for your system, or ask the mailing list / support / frum for your OS. > Another question, is it common to run nagios as root ?
