Names in CGI configuration don't need to be Nagios contacts. The only difference that I know of it that the CGI will fill-in your name automatically in commands. >> 3. What actually happens when a service go down is that Nagios runs the Host check and sends a notification only if the host check returns UP. This way you won't get paged for all services on the host when the host is down.
