I had a group of nrpe services go critical due to some network problems. Once the network came back up, the higher priority checks all recovered, while the lower priority checks that are only scheduled to check a couple times a day still showed CRITICAL (and would have for hours). With my understanding of how nagios works, that makes perfect sense, but I found myself wishing there was a way to reschedule those low priority services to re-check once the network was back up. (they had already reached max_checks).
On a hostgroup or servicegroup when you click on the name part that's in parentheses and you get that menu of stuff you can do to all the machines in the host/servicegroup at once (extinfo.cgi)? It would be great to be able to reschedule service checks for all the services here or somehow force a re-check of all services in the group. I know, this probably could be pretty easily scripted via external commands file, but sure would be a nice 3.0 feature! Maybe there's some other way to tackle this like with dependencies or something i'm not thinking of? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
