You want documentation for the plugins -- nagios doesn't do any checking by itself, so it depends where you get them from. http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/plugins.html is a starting point.

For example, I want to monitor my servers to ensure they are always responding on port 104. How do I do that? Is there somewhere I can look that wil explain all the options available to me?
