Hi,

We run NRPE on 4 public-facing servers.  All unnecessary ports are  
blocked by a firewall, port 5666 is limited to our Nagios server only,  
and NRPE is configured (through its config file) to only accept  
connections from our Nagios server.

Never had any issues.
