Fellow Nagios Users, I have recently installed Nagios 3 in a HP rx6600 (Itanium) system and with in the last 4 months the system has crashed/panic'd twice and none before I installed Nagios. I talked with HP and of course I got the typical "You need to install patch number such and such".
The patch that HP is wanting me to install is a cumulative ARPA Transport patch and the HP engineer that I worked with mentioned that it could be that the system is getting to much network traffic. One thing that I have changed on my Nagios environment is that now only the main nagios process is running. I had the main nagios process running as well as the nrpe daemon. I originally set it up running both nagios and nrpe to ease the configuration process but like I mentioned I stopped nrpe and made changes to the config files to perform local checks. Has any body seen/experienced any similar problems on an HP rx6600 Itanium system? Thanks for your help.
