There are generally two ways to utilize SNMP with nagios - either you set up your nagios server to catch SNMP "traps" (the SNMP trapsink server), http://www.nagios.org/faqs/viewfaq.php?faq_id=29 http://www.nagios.org/faqs/viewfaq.php?faq_id=28 or you poll the host/snmpd service for whatever info you like from the client/nagios side using SNMP - Therefore, unless you are polling your own server via nagios, tweaking/changing your local snmpd.conf will not do much good... Either way, check out http://manubulon.nagios.org - these will fill the gaps in "check_snmp", for either *nix or windows systems. Another good starting point is : http://conshell.net/wiki/index.php/Using_Nagios_with_SNMP Regards, jamie ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apps built with the Adobe(R) Flex(R) framework and Flex Builder(TM) are powering Web 2.0 with engaging, cross-platform capabilities.
