But it still wouldn't make (the error message looked like a combo of foreign language and corrupt text encoding) and I hadn't seen Andrew's e-mail yet, so I just re-installed the entire plugins package. This time it compiled with check_snmp, and after restarting Nagios, my SNMP checks are functioning. NICE! Thanks for the tips. If I need to install an individual check at a later date, I'll try Andrew's method of making that one check. -Mike
