I'm a very satisfied user of the Multitech SMSFinder and the perl script

The hardware was about $650 and the the "telemetry" SMS service from AT&T about
$9/month. Using this technology means my alerts can get out even if my
Internet connection is down and will continue to get out as long as there is
power or UPS battery.
