Hi, Even stranger this now only allows me to add 234 hosts. Adding 235 hosts causes the error.
I added a another dummy host "test-host2" and it works again Checking services... Checked 1339 services. Checking hosts... Warning: Host 'test-host' has no services associated with it! Error: Contact group 'nobody' specified in host 'test-host' is not defined anywhere! Warning: Host 'test-host2' has no services associated with it! Error: Contact group 'nobody' specified in host 'test-host2' is not defined anywhere! Checked 235 hosts. Checking host groups... I tested moving the files from the template.cfg to another .cfg file and the error reoccurs. At your request by adding a dummy host seems to have sorted the issue. Any thoughts as to why this may be? Running pre-flight check on configuration data... Checking services... A single install of nagios can monitor thousands of hosts and services (providing the hardware resources are there). > > Does anyone have any experience of this type of issue? You've either encountered a never-before-seen bug or you have a genuine error in your configuration files. Please post the template definition and a host definition that references it. Please post an 'ls -l' of the config files and the results of 'egrep "^cfg_" /usr/ local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg'. Also try adding a dummy host in the same file that you have the template defined -- define host{ use linux-server ; Name of host template to use host_name test-host alias test-host address 1.1.1.1 contact_groups nobody } -- Marc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Nagios-users mailing list Nagios-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nagios-users ::: Please include Nagios version, plugin version (-v) and OS when reporting any issue. ::: Messages without supporting info will risk being sent to /dev/null ________________________________ Any views given in this message are the sender's own, and do not represent the views of IT Force except where the sender specifically states them to be the views of IT Force.
