The whole screen? Did you jiggle the cable? Monitor going bad? If you're talking about specific services or hosts, what is their service status when this happens? Is it Pending? That would mean that nagios hasn't yet checked those services (i.e. after a restart/ reload). If you don't like that, enable status Retention. You -may- also have multiple nagios processes running if this is happening intermittently.
