I highly recommend the book "Nagios System and Network Monitoring" by Wolfgang Barth http://nostarch.com/nagios_2e.htm It will probably save you a lot of time if you want quickly to understand how to use Nagios. Bear in mind the 2nd edition of this book covers Nagios version 3 and there are some differences. Even so, I think you would benefit most by buying the 2nd edition of the book rather than the first edition which describes Nagios 2. hth, Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
