Well, the monitoring host is 32 bit, and the MacOS X 10.5. client machine claims to be i386. But the problem also occurs if I call check_disk manually on the machine where the volume is checked. The lines copied in my first mail where from such a manual run. So I am sure no 32/64Bit hassle is involved in this case. Thank you for your input!
