Thank you for the reply, Assaf. Update of the status.dat file fails randomly, there are times when it succeeds, I'd say the directory permission problem isn't the case.
>From your speculation, it seems that some other process breaks in and stops the process of nagios. I will check cron's. At worst , would it be useful to check the debug for nagios?
