when i migrated from nagios 1.4 to nagios 3.2, i did not add following lines to contacts.cfg
host_notifications_enabled 1 service_notifications_enabled 1 Again the same question. the nagios docs say, these lines are "required". however, my service notifications are working but the host notifications do not work. Why are service notifications working when the above lines are missing ?? Macro names and availability has changed a lot between 1.4 and 3.2.3. When you've done that, make the host notification script just append all its parameters and the date and time it's being run to a file somewhere so you know Nagios is running the script.
