Hi Mike, Mod-Gearman is more or less the successor of DNX and probably the fastest worker available at the moment. It has hostgroup/servicegroup affinity included as well as embedded perl support. It is high available with automatic loadbalancing when you setup at least 2 worker per network segment. But Mod-Gearman has a central configuration/scheduling. So when all master are down/unreachable, no checks are done. Merlin is the only addon capable for multimaster setups.
I would try Merlin for a Multi-Master with Mod-Gearman worker but i never tried that. I usually use only Mod-Gearman with a single Master and vmware/veritas/heartbeat/whatever failover solution. All this applys to the Nagios opensource version. I cannot say anything about Nagios XI. Bye, Sven On 1/25/12 23:44, Mike Lindsey wrote: > There are a lot of options..
