Dayna,
     I would have to say that to explain the difference to your clients would 
depend on what type of gel and acrylic you are using. Are you using a soak off 
gel? If so, then you need to explain what that is all about. 
     As for the difference between how your nails are different from nss 
places--that would depend on what type you are talking about. What you need to 
remember that nss constitutes ANY salon or shop that is not up to industry 
standards. I have quite a few nss places in my area that are HIGH END SPAS. 
Reusing implements and files; dirty places but they use OPI or CND or Tammy 
Taylor acrylic products. Not washing the pedi tubs as per the company 
directions to prevent another Watsonville incident. They are nss. 
     To explain the difference, the client needs to know that there are many 
types of "other" places. You likely want to tell them about MMA usage and the 
abuse of the dremel. Or how they do not wash implements or toss them in a UV 
"sterilizer" and pretend the implements are clean. Or like the above spas, do 
not follow cleanliness procedures? 
     We need to remember that nss is just not "those" types of places. They 
could be your very upscale salon that the whole town raves about.

help you some to decide what to say in your menu.
