Hello, I have a client who is allergic (I guess) to every ac product but CND. When I try to use ANYTHING different she get numb and tingly feelings in her hands. I have occasionally tried using different powders (glitter) or primers (protein bond) and she will tell me right away she's feeling numb. I can't believe how sensitive she is. Keep up the good work CND I guess but I can't figure out what in the world it is that she's having a problem with specifically. It seems to be the powder mostly that causes the problem. I have tried using the CND on the bottom and putting the glitter over the top but when I file and get the dust on her she starts having the symptoms right away. She wants to wear the glitters and I haven't been able to find one that she can use successfully except CND.
Anyone else had this problem? I don't use one that has base, then builder, then top. I use a one step, comes in pink white or clear, pretty much brushes on like polish, one, two, or three coats, depending on how thick you make it. Easy as pie, and files like butter. I use starnails T-3 fiber gel without the fiber strips, I don't need them and don't use them, I also do not use tips I only sculpt. Once I got used to working with the gel, building sculpts became easier to do than AC. I can now do a full set of sculpts in a little over an hour, If I am just placing on their own natural nail, then it takes about 45 minutes from start to finish. Now I will tell you when I first started, I tried the brisa, teaching myself with a video and paper instructions, took me 4 hours. I hated it, but with practice and lots of mistakes, I must say I can do a pretty nice set of nails. Although I haven't played with brisa much since, like I said I use the starnails T-3 fiber gel, I should give it a try again, just to see if I can do it now, knowing how gel works and all. Don't give up, just keep plugging away at it, you will get it, after all it just takes time and practice. Just try not to get down on yourself. In time it will come. And then you will be amazed by your own work like I am. Keep practicing and keep your chin up. Today I did a fill and did not use Line Out. It did not happen. Obviously an old bottle of Line Out. Others have posted that it has happened to them also and it was the Line Out. Thanks for your suggestion. I thought of that too. That's why I used a new brush. That the acrylic itself is yellow and you can just see it good when it lifts? Try to see if your brush leaves any yellow on a paper towel when you press out the monomer. I have had that happen before. I think it is the line out that I am using. I posted about that and some people agreed that the line out could be the problem. Thanks for your input! Yes, very frustrating trying to figure out how to solve nail dilemmas! It's always the pointer and middle finger of their dominate hand that get stained from the smoke. The lifting might be due to her typing on the register, but the yellow could be from the smoke creeping up under the lifted part. Or it could be chemicals, if her hands are in any cleaners. Or makeup, too. But most likely it's her job that causes the lifting, but then the other stuff she comes into contact gets under the lift. Isn't it fun to play Sherlock Holmes with nails? She works in a grocery store doing mostly cash register and stocking. The first two fingers on her working hand always lift, I am assuming is due to her banging on the register keys with them. The problem is that when they lift, they turn yellow underneath. When I prep them for a fill and get off the lifting acrylic and fill them, they still are yellow. I always have to soak them off and put new tips on. Do you think some cleaning product, lotion, etc. is getting under them? I am at a loss, so I am turning to the pros on this one. I am using Attraction powder with retention+ and bond aid, bond ex for prep and primer. Any suggestions? > > Lisa Cianciotti ============================================================================ == You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
