Kim,
Keep in mind most Odorless Acrylics have that sticky layer that really needs to be entirely filed off.  To be sure that you've totally removed it, when you file it should be dust and not that roll off.  The chemical left behind in the roll off could cause the gel to lift.  Also (not familiar with the brand of color gel you are using), but let's say it was Star or Cina Color gel....I would advise you to really be sure you've filed all the goo off.  Have your client wash her hands (scrub in for surgery really use that brush to get all remaining dust out).  Then I would use our Finishing Wipe or Straight up Alcohol to be sure any last bit of oily residue is gone.. and then apply our color gel.  We do not use a bond gel nor would you use our primer on the acrylic before the gel application.

I hope this helps you out Kim.  Good Luck...hang in there.

:) Elaine

On Saturday, I did a fill on acrylics(that were not origianlly done by me) with Vicky Peters Ordorless system.  I filed and buffed a little - not completely smooth as I wanted something for the gel to hold onto.  I used Akzentz color gel and top coat to seal.   By that night, the gel was peeling off.  What did I do wrong.  I thought you could use gel colors over acrylics.
Thanks for all of your expertise and time sharing!!
