Good Morning,
I use Akzentz Options gel colors.  I use Nailite Tackless Sealer for everything
and use Nailite soft gel for Gel Toes. I would love to have all of the Akzents
Gel colors but must add one at a time. HTH
Have a great day!!

Mornin Kim
What single colored gels do you use?
I have been looking for a semi transparent gels that mimick the array of french
pinks/peaches.  everytime I think I have found one it turns out streaky or
muddled.  I have been doing gels since  creation...but can't find one that goes
on perfect and stays perfect!
Can you advise?

Ok, as of this morning, my 14 year old daughter Addison's nails look great.
After reading Paul Bryson's reply, I got a little worried.  I did a fill on
myself yesterday, polish (letting dry really well) then topped with a gel clear
coat.  By last night, all of them have some type of chipping.  I was really
hoping mixing the polish and gel would work.  Like Shannon said, could save a
lot of money!!  I do have to admit though, there is nothing that looks as good
and shiney and tough as gel colors!  I get more compliments when I have single
color gels on!  Must be my area!
Have a great weekend!!

Yes and what an array of color possibilities out there, I have over 200
different polishes,  I cannot afford to buy that array of gel polishes,  if
this can work and save me money,  ( even better, to make me money),  then it is
well worth a try.

Hi Lisa,
I've tried the method with polishing the natural nails and then overlaying it
w/gel, it has not worked. It chips, pits and the gel shrinks on the polish...
That's my experience. I haven't tried the method where you mix the polish into
the gel+then apply it on the natural nails-but it seems to be working for our
networking friends, can't wait to try it! It would be an ideal gel method, even
though there are lots of color gels in the industry; however, this way, you can
use the clients favorite color.

Are you guys talking about using this polish/gel mixture over natural nails or
acrylics?  And I don't want to sound stupid here, I am a new nail tech, but why
do you have to mix it?  Can't you just polish the nail and then apply the gel
over top, then cure?   Please be gentle with you remarks.

I finally did mine this afternoon.  Turned out great so far.  Will see how they
do through the torture I put them through.  I used Zoya- Tess and clear T-3
fibergel. Very pretty!!!

I don't file them. After the last coat has cured, I seal them with a tackless
sealer I got from Nailite (I love that stuff!!!) do cuticle oil and go.

when you do this do you just apply like a polish and cure 2 min. between coats
then do you have to file  then seal or just apply and go after all curing is
complete?

It wasn't scientific at all.  I just kept mixing in the polish until I thought
it was dark enough.  Sorry.

So Kim, what was the ratio you used for the polish/gel and how much quantity
did you end up with to get adequate coverage? Debbie W. -----Original
